On 7 December 1941, USS Oklahoma rolled over at Berth F-5 in under twelve minutes, trapping hundreds of men inside her hull. Navy Yard workers cut 32 of them free. Then the Navy did something no one had done before: it pulled a 583-foot battleship upright with 21 electric winches on Ford Island. And after all that, she was never repaired — and in 1947 she sank a second time, under tow, 500 miles from Hawaii. This is the story of where USS Oklahoma is now: the ship, the men she carried, and what is left of her.
