A slow day exploring a different side of Tokyo, away from the busiest streets and the usual tourist spots. Starting in Asakusabashi, we head to Shibamata to discover its nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, Taishakuten Temple and its beautiful garden. From there, we continue to Kameari, the neighborhood made famous by Kochikame, before ending the day in Asakusa as the city begins to quiet down. Along the way: retro streets, local neighborhoods, temples, trains, cafés and a few quiet moments of everyday Tokyo life.
