Titus 1:1-9 • September 24, 2026

Join us at Lighthouse Baptist Church as we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Book of Titus. In this Thursday evening Bible study, we examine Titus 1:1-9, where the Apostle Paul introduces his letter to Titus and outlines the biblical qualifications for church leaders. This study explores Paul's calling as an apostle of Jesus Christ, the hope of eternal life promised by God before the world began, the importance of preaching God's Word, and the responsibility of establishing godly leadership within the local church. We also discuss the necessity of sound doctrine, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, and standing firmly on the gospel of grace. Topics covered in this study include: • Titus 1:1-9 explained verse by verse • The Apostle Paul's ministry and apostleship • God's promise of eternal life before the foundation of the world • Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone • The preaching of God's Word • Biblical qualifications for elders and bishops • Sound doctrine and defending the truth • The importance of rightly dividing Scripture (2 Timothy 2:15) • Grace, mercy, and peace through Jesus Christ • God's plan for church leadership Whether you are studying Titus for the first time or seeking a deeper understanding of Scripture, this Bible study will encourage you to grow in faith and confidence in God's Word.
