Eighty-five photographs of the houses of Ireland, gathered over a few weeks of walking and wandering in the autumn of 2026. No narration, no route, just buildings: lived in, left behind, and very old. They are set side by side so that each picture leads into one that looks like it, to the sound of a slow cello. It begins with small houses standing alone, farm and village cottages and a first ruin, then moves into town: terraces and Georgian and Victorian fronts. It comes in close for doors and weathered facades, a blue door with its fanlight, a carved stone, a thatched cottage in miniature. Then come the painted rows, the long run of colour along the road, and the newer houses and bungalows on the way out of town, where the first roofless cottages appear. Out in the country there are farmyards and barns of stone and tin, houses left to the ivy and the weather, and slate-roofed village stone at dusk and by day. Then the houses grow small in a wide country, and a stone circle stands in a field with the farms behind it. It ends with tower houses, arches and walled gardens: the long past, last. A few of the pictures are not strictly buildings, and two tractors and some friends wandered into frame. They stayed. Hence "mostly". 0:00 Small houses 0:47 Town streets 1:57 Doors and old facades 2:46 Terraces and colour 3:56 Houses on the road out 4:38 Farmyards and barns 5:34 Empty houses 6:09 Village stone 6:51 Fields and the circle 8:29 Towers and ruins --- Slideshow ordering, rostrum moves and blends, music editing and mastering: all performed by the 'Kinema' engine. carbon: st33v™ silicon: la Cremonde An amphiSapient Production CC BY-NC 4.0 MMXXVI
