Solo Female Living Off-Grid Ep 4: Transporting Materials, DIY Leak-Proof Nails & Building 100m² Roof

Welcome back to Episode 4 of my off-grid cabin-building series! 🍃✨ In this episode, I took on one of the most physically demanding tasks yet: installing the complete 4-sided roof for my 2-room timber cabin. After transporting the heavy roofing sheets to the mountain site using a local farm truck, I spent hours climbing high onto the rafters to secure every single panel. To ensure my new home remains completely leak-proof during heavy tropical rains, I used a clever DIY technique: cutting custom rubber washers from old, discarded motorcycle tires to place beneath 10cm timber nails. Balancing high above the ground and nailing over 100m² of roofing all by myself was exhausting, but seeing the main roof structure finally completed makes all the hard work worth it!
