Turning Old Artwork Into a Botanical Collage | Mixed Media Art

What happens when you take an old piece of artwork, print it out, cut it up and give it a completely new life? In this video, I’m experimenting with printed artwork, collage, colour and botanical elements to create a new whimsical mixed-media piece. I use my own previous artwork as the starting point, then manipulate the printed image by tearing, layering, rearranging and adding hand-drawn botanical details. Sometimes an old drawing or painting can become the perfect starting point for a new piece of art.
