I'm back! Sorry for not uploading any music this year. I have been super busy--I graduated college and started working full time, joined a band and wrote a bunch of songs for them, all the while still writing even more songs for fan exit grill and other projects. I wrote this song back in May, playing around with normal chord voicings in open tunings. It's about embracing the fact that you can do things by your own volition, just cause you want to. This was something I've been thinking about a lot since graduating, now that I am the most "free" I have ever been in my life and people aren't telling me what to do or where to go anymore. It can be scary to not have a set path, but if you focus on the fact that you now have the power to tell yourself what to do, and do the things you enjoy doing, just cause you want to, it feels a bit more manageable. This is a track from an upcoming album that is fully written and partially recorded, so expect to see that early next year (hopefully).
