"it's a small world" Magic Kingdom South Pacific room music 12 minute loop (1975-present)

Happy birthday Mary Blair! This is a 12 minute loop of the audio used in the South Pacific room of Magic Kingdom's "it's a small world" from roughly 1975 to the present. There are no vocals, as the only time this version of this room ever had vocals was in the very early years when they had the British vocals (all three verses) being played over this audio. I recreated that version as well and linked it below. I do prefer this version to the British vocals, and can see why they'd adopt a similar template at Disneyland when they restored the original soundtrack there in 2003. I also like the English vocals as they make sense in this room. This room has not changed too much over the years, but there have been a couple of changes that I wish did not occur. In the 2004-2005 refurbishment, the formerly bright green walls were repainted black, which I think was a mistake. Although the California it's a small world is my favorite overall, one thing that I think was improved upon with the 1971 Florida iteration was having brightly colored walls instead of all black walls like the original in California. it's a small world at Tokyo Disneyland opened with the park in 1983, and the interior was largely a replica of the Florida version at the time, down to the brightly colored walls. Tokyo Disneyland shows how much better these walls look with the 1971 colors and excellent maintenance, and I wish these colors would return to the walls in Florida. In 2016, the lighting in this room received an overhaul, making the colors much cooler and more muted than before. While it definitely doesn't look bad, I prefer the way it looked before this change. it's a small world at Magic Kingdom is currently in a sad state of disrepair. It's a stark & sad contrast to the Disneyland version since it was fixed up in 2025. As of 2026, with all of the other refurbishments lately of classic attractions at Walt Disney World, my gut tells me a major refurbishment of it's a small world at Magic Kingdom is coming at some point in the next several years.
