The Feeling That Stays | Freedom Frequency | Soul-Funk

The Feeling That Stays is Track 5 from What We Make of It, a 12-song original album by Freedom Frequency. Inspired by the warm, mellow soul-funk of the 1970s, this original song explores the difference between the temporary excitement of having something new and the lasting happiness we discover through meaningful experiences, relationships and moments that money cannot buy. We live in a world that constantly encourages us to want more. A new purchase, something bigger, something better, another little reward to brighten the day. And while those things can bring enjoyment, the excitement often fades, leaving us searching for the next thing. But some of the most valuable moments in life don't come with a price tag. A conversation that stays with us for years. Laughter shared with people we love. An unexpected adventure. A simple afternoon that becomes a treasured memory. The Feeling That Stays is about recognising the difference between the things we own and the experiences that become part of who we are. Created as a response to Buy Yourself Happy from the companion album Beyond the Questions, this song offers a gentler perspective on happiness, contentment and what truly makes life feel rich. With expressive female soul vocals, warm Fender Rhodes piano, rounded melodic basslines and a relaxed 1970s-inspired groove, The Feeling That Stays invites us to appreciate the moments that matter long after the excitement of something new has disappeared. Because the most valuable things in life aren't always the things we can hold. Sometimes they're the feelings that never really leave us. All songs originally written for Freedom Frequency.
