Remembering the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ | In This Sweet Holy Communion | Christian Worship

“In This Sweet Holy Communion” is a song of reflection and worship, inviting us to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, give thanks for His redeeming love, and draw near to Him in reverence. As we come to the bread and the cup, we remember His body given for us, His blood freely shed, His suffering, His death, and His resurrection. Communion gives us a sacred moment to reflect on what Christ has done, examine our hearts, renew our trust in Him, and respond in worship. But this song reaches beyond remembrance of Calvary. It also looks forward. We remember the Suffering Servant whose blood was freely spent for us, while praying: Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your will be done. Through Christ, we belong to Him. We are called to remain faithful, persevere through the journey, and follow Him until we enter the Kingdom He has prepared. “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.” — Luke 22:19 “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger.” — John 6:35 “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.” — 1 Corinthians 11:26 This song is part of our Reflection and Worship journey—music intended to create space for remembrance, prayer, gratitude, surrender, and deeper fellowship with Christ. May this song help us approach Holy Communion with reverence—not simply remembering what Jesus did, but recognizing what His sacrifice means for our lives today and the hope that awaits us.
