Movie Review Train to Busan (Korea) One of My Favorite Zombie Movies Ever

There are movies you enjoy. There are movies you watch once and never really think about again. And then there are movies like Train to Busan. I've watched this Korean zombie film more than a few times now, and every single time it manages to grip me. For me, Train to Busan is one of the greatest zombie movies ever made. Honestly, I'd challenge you to find much wrong with it. At its heart, the film follows a father and his young daughter aboard a train travelling to Busan when a zombie outbreak begins tearing through South Korea. That's really all you need to know before watching it. Because while Train to Busan delivers everything you'd expect from a great zombie movie—panic, violence, hordes of infected and some incredibly tense sequences—there's much more going on underneath. It's about people. Family. Selfishness. Sacrifice. And what human beings become when they're frightened and survival suddenly matters more than anything else. That's what keeps bringing me back. You can have all the zombies and carnage in the world, but if I don't care about the people trying to survive it, eventually it just becomes noise. Train to Busan made me care. And that means when this movie wants to hit you emotionally, it hits HARD. There's another reason I wanted to talk about this film. Physical media matters to me more than ever. I've reached the point where if I discover a movie I genuinely love, I want a physical copy sitting on my shelf. Streaming is convenient. Digital purchases are convenient. But availability changes. Movies move between services. Titles disappear from catalogues. Licences change. Something you thought you'd always have access to can suddenly become surprisingly difficult to watch. Train to Busan helped reinforce something for me: If I genuinely love a movie, I want to own a physical copy. A disc sitting on my shelf doesn't care which streaming platform currently has the rights. So in today's video I'm revisiting one of my favourite zombie films and explaining why, after multiple viewings, Train to Busan still gets my highest recommendation.
