A Small Book Haul Lets Take A Look At Them

One of the dangers of buying books as stock for our eBay business is that some of them never make it anywhere near eBay. This isn't an enormous book haul, but while sourcing stock recently I happened across a number of books that were simply too good for me to sell. So instead of heading to the eBay shelves, they're heading upstairs and finding a permanent home on my bookcase. In this video I take you through everything I've decided to keep, why each book caught my attention and, inevitably, probably talk considerably longer about them than I intended. That's half the fun of collecting books though. Sometimes it's the author, sometimes the subject, sometimes the edition and occasionally you pick something up and immediately know this one belongs in my collection. But there's another side to being both a book collector and a reseller. I also show you 19 rather exceptional books that I would absolutely love to keep... but they're simply worth too much money. That's when the reseller has to defeat the collector. 😂 As much as I love having interesting books on my shelves, when something has significant resale value I have to remind myself that buying and selling these things is also how we make our living. There comes a point where I'd rather see a special book go to somebody who really wants it and put the money back into our business — even if a little part of me would rather quietly sneak it upstairs. So this one is a mixture of book haul, book collecting and the eternal struggle between Tory the book lover and Tory the reseller.
