Raag Puriya Kalyan | Akshay Vardhave

Raag Puriya Kalyan (a dusk melody) by Akshay Vardhave in a Baithak on the occasion of Maghi Ganeshotsav at Omkar Chiplunkar's residency in Kalwa, Thane. In this recital he performed three bandishes in which the first one was a traditional composition 'Howan laagi saanj' in taal Vilambit Tilwada, second one was ' Latak Chalat matawaro' - a composition composed by the great maestro of Gwalior gharana pandit Sharadshchandra Aarolkarji (Aarolkarbuwa) in Madhyala Teentaal concluded by Tarana, his own composition in drut Teental. Akshay was accompanied on Tabla by Shri.Atul Godse, on Harmonium by Mrs.Rutuja Karve-Kunte and Taanpura with vocal support by Shri.Nilay Patil.
