Unboxing Scarce Uranium Glass & Mystery Finds | What's in the Box?! Ep 26

Welcome to Glass in the Dark! What's in the Box?! is our ongoing series where we unbox and explore vaseline and uranium glass found online. Each episode brings a fun mix of history, surprises, personality, and of course that unmistakable glow under UV light. This episode has one scarce pattern piece and two mysteries. I should mention that my camera was set to manual focus by accident, so the image quality is a bit blurry. It's not my best work, but the glass still glows beautifully. Box 1: Reticulated Cord Goblet A goblet from a water or lemonade set made by O'Hara Glass Company in Pittsburgh, PA around 1885. The pattern is Reticulated Cord, which features a rope moving in geometric patterns. This pattern is pretty scarce, and this is the second piece I have in the line. Box 2: Mystery Opalescent Bowl I found this piece during an online auction and knew it would glow from the pictures, but what really got me was the color. It's a double handled bowl with an opalescent appearance similar to opaline glass ~ that translucent, milky look. I have no idea who made it, when it was made, or what the pattern is called. If you recognize it, let me know in the comments. Box 3: Mystery Decorative Bowl This little bowl has four handles and a decorative raised foot. The scalloped opalescent rim and hand crafted foot suggest it might be English, possibly Davidson, but I can't find anything similar with the same number of handles. If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing about it. Let's examine some mystery glass and enjoy the glow of a good find.
