Himinrún — Before the Horn

At Himinbjorg, the watch holds in the hush before the warning. “Before the Horn” opens Himinrún’s The Horn Before Dawn with a modern lyrical scene of a watch kept before the signal. The album follows a creative editorial sequence inspired by episodes in Völuspá, Grímnismál, Vafþrúðnismál, and Snorri’s Gylfaginning. These sources differ in form and emphasis and do not provide one uncontested continuous chronology. The song’s continuous vigil and its particular wording are modern interpretation, not historical quotation or reconstruction. Vocals: Hjalmar Vetr. Artist: Himinrún.
