In a rather astonishing development, Andrew Mwenda, an adviser to CDF Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is back in the spotlight this time making extraordinary claims about Dr. Kizza Besigye and Muhoozi’s political prospects. Mwenda claims that if Muhoozi were to run for president, he could win with an astonishing 80% of the vote despite Muhoozi’s conduct and the long abysmal political record of his father, Museveni. But where is the evidence for that extraordinary prediction? Is this polling data, or simply political speculation? Then Mwenda makes another explosive claim. He says the audio and video recordings presented in court by Wilson Orlando in connection with allegations against Besigye are 100% authentic, and invokes international intelligence agencies as having supposedly verified them. Yet, as Mwenda presents the argument, he offers no evidence in the discussion to substantiate those claims.
