I made my way to Douglas' trailer, though got stopped by Kyle in the garage and thought for sure the game was going to force me to move on right then, but then after the conversation I was able to go about doing what I needed to do before leaving. So fought my way to the trailer and the award Douglas gave me was... a gun, a large handgun called the M950, which while not quite a good with range and rate of fire as my basic pistol I had yet to swap for anything else, this one does have a much larger capacity, holding 100 rounds at a time.
I made my way back to the garage and was ready to move on. Change to Disc 2. Oh, okay, got it!
As we are driving along the road, up on a mesa something was watching us drive by, actually a whole pack of them. We made it to the mines that would lead to the shelter, but the creatures that spotted us on the road caught up and we had to hold them off. Though after one was killed Aya told Kyle to get into the mines that she would finish this out here as he appeared to be wounded. I had to fight off, I dunno, somewhere around a dozen or so of these things, those long-legged, long-necked human faced things that charge at you. I managed to beat them all and then entered the mine.
Sure hope I don't die before I find a phone. I get to a mine cart, push that out of the way, but didn't find anything useful, so explored through another door, a bridge, destroyed, a gap that Aya doesn't want to risk trying to jump across, so I had to go back. I found the tonfa weapon to be best against those two-legged hopping gremlin creatures. I then went back and got the wooden board that I didn't realize at the time was going to be a carriable item since it is so big. So with that was able to span the gap, thus crossing the to the other side of the bridge. I found a room, ah, yes, safe, there's a telephone. I turned on a breaker, but power was only supplied to one of two gates. Will figure more out about this later, first, need to make that call to save my game.
