Self-betrayal is an extremely common human experience, particularly for people who learned in childhood to prioritize the needs of others over their own. Divine love does not require unlimited access. You can love someone and not serve them. You can recognize someone's struggle without rescuing them. You can have abundant energy without making yourself everyone's source. You can be a healer without becoming someone's personal supply. And perhaps most importantly: Giving freely is only truly free when you are also free to choose not to give. If you cannot say no without guilt, fear, shame, or feeling that you are betraying your spiritual identity, then the giving isn't completely free anymore.
