More detailed description found in my winter recording Installed in 2025, this is the first summer of operations for the Explorer Gondola, it serves everything from beginner to advanced terrain with the option to unload at the mid station, this is also where zip line guests unload. A portion of the Gondola cabins are removed and Doppelmayr/CWA Bike Cabs are added in their place and the lift runs with a 4:1 ratio in the summer. The rotating bike cabs make loading and unloading the bike cabs fairly simple and are number coded, they rotate on a gear located on the inside edge of the cabin with teeth on the cabin guide in the terminals. It’s also now the dedicated main face lift for foot traffic as foot traffic is no longer allowed on Swift Current 6 as that is now bikes only. This allows for a much smoother transition to the Lone Peak Tram and for the first time ever, Big Sky guests can go to the summit in the summer via only two lift rides. It’s been a very welcome addition to summer operations.
