Suiko Enbu playthrough (SEGA Saturn, 1CC)

Playthrough of arcade mode with Lu Zhi Shen, a.k.a. Rochishin. Suiko Enbu -known as Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty in American arcades and retitled Dark Legend for the American Saturn port -is a 2D weapons based fighting game from Data East. This port is really poor, mainly due to the ridiculous amounts of slowdown which completely ruins it. I've not played the arcade version but I seriously doubt it runs this badly. The slowdown makes moves hard to do and the gameplay is really clunky as a result. I've heard that the American version made some improvements to the slowdown issues but as I've never played it myself, I can't confirm. This game is also very difficult... at least in arcade mode. The Japanese version features two game mode settings, "arcade" and "special". Arcade is presumably exactly like the arcade version, whilst special features several differences, including easier CPU opponents, desperation moves and a new sub-boss. The American version does not feature a game mode selection option. I picked Rochishin because his spear is a really good weapon, you can get through most of the game just by using his standing and crouching fierce punch attacks, and his silkworm slash special move. If you hit them with the silkworm slash and they're near the corner, you'll smash them into the wall and can do the move again to do even more damage. This game features a weapon break gauge -block too much and your weapon will break, leaving you to fight with your fists. Some characters gain different moves when they haven't got their weapon, for example Rochishin gains ice projectiles which can freeze the opponent. You can even toss your weapon at the opponent, if it his them it will automatically stun them.
