In 1968, Chrysler took its smallest Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda, dropped in the legendary 426 Race Hemi, and removed almost everything that didn’t help them win. Rear seats, heaters, radios, heavy glass, steel body panels—gone. In their place came fiberglass, lightweight glass, stripped interiors, massive hood scoops, and one of the most feared engines in American drag racing history. The result was the LO23 Hemi Dart and BO29 Hemi Barracuda, factory-built machines designed for one purpose: dominate NHRA Super Stock. This documentary explores how Chrysler built them, why Ford and GM never produced a direct answer, and how these 1968 Mopars became some of the most legendary drag cars ever created.
