8K / 4K Relaxing Scenic Drive from Roddlesworth Information Centre BB3 0PA to Abbey Village, Lancashire Come along with me on a beautiful short scenic drive through the Roddlesworth and Tockholes countryside in Lancashire, travelling from Roddlesworth Information Centre to Abbey Village. This drive takes us through a peaceful corner of the West Pennine Moors, surrounded by Lancashire countryside, woodland, rolling hills and historic villages. Although this is a relatively short drive, the scenery changes quickly as we leave the Roddlesworth area and make our way towards the picturesque village of Abbey Village. We begin at Roddlesworth Information Centre, Tockholes, postcode BB3 0PA, an area that is popular with walkers and visitors exploring Roddlesworth Woods, Tockholes and the surrounding West Pennine landscape. The information centre itself stands on the former site of Hollinshead Mill, which was demolished in the early 20th century. From here we head towards Abbey Village, travelling through the countryside around Tockholes. This is an area with a fascinating industrial and agricultural history, where the landscape still reflects Lancashire's past. The wider Roddlesworth area is closely connected with the historic reservoir system built during the Victorian period. The Roddlesworth reservoirs formed part of the water infrastructure developed between approximately 1850 and 1875, helping supply water to the growing population of the region. As we continue towards Abbey Village, the landscape opens up and you get a real sense of the character of the West Pennine countryside — stone buildings, farmland, woodland and rolling hills all combining to make this a lovely area for a relaxing drive. Abbey Village itself is a historic Lancashire village situated on the A675, approximately 1½ miles from Roddlesworth Information Centre. The village developed during the Industrial Revolution and was closely associated with the local cotton industry. This is a simple, peaceful Lancashire driving route rather than a long-distance journey, but that's exactly what makes it enjoyable. It's a great little drive for anyone who enjoys UK countryside, Lancashire scenery, rural roads, woodland, historic villages and relaxing scenic drives. 🚐 DRIVE ROUTE 📍 Roddlesworth Information Centre, Tockholes ➡️ Tockholes countryside ➡️ Roddlesworth area ➡️ Abbey Village, Lancashire If you enjoy scenic driving videos, Lancashire countryside, UK road trips and exploring beautiful places by car, please consider subscribing to the channel.
