Did you know this area has an incredible history? 🪨 Longridge was built on its famous sandstone quarries, with stone from the fell used to construct landmarks across Lancashire and beyond. 🚂 The Preston–Longridge Railway, opened in 1840, was originally built to transport stone from the quarries and was one of England's earliest railways. 🌄 Jeffrey Hill is one of Lancashire's finest viewpoints. On a clear day you can see across the Ribble Valley, the Forest of Bowland, Morecambe Bay, the Lake District fells, and, if you're lucky, even the Isle of Man. 🏘️ Longridge is also home to Club Row, believed to be the oldest surviving terrace built by a building society anywhere in the world. This beautiful corner of Lancashire combines breathtaking scenery with a fascinating industrial past, making it one of the county's hidden gems.
