Mom Accused of Killing Toddler: Prosecution Open

On Monday, the case against high school teacher Kianna Davis began. She is accused of beating and killing her 2-year-old son, Karter Ambrose. Prosecutors allege the toddler had fatal injuries, including a lacerated liver. The state claims that the courtroom will hear evidence that the toddler’s injuries occurred 1-3 days prior to his death and that the evidence is going “to bury her.” Davis’ boyfriend at the time, Kiyon Benton, is also facing charges in the child’s death.
