Deciphering Dylan's live version of "Going , Going, Gone" from the upcoming Rolling Thunder Box set.

In this video, my former partner Howard Appell returns after a 4-year absence, and we discuss the topsy-turvey relationship between Bob and Joan Baez. In this sneak preview of the 1976 Rolling Thunder Revue tapes that will be released in November, a live version of the song, "Going, Going, Gone," recorded in May of 1976, was released last week. This version is almost a different song from the original on the 1974 Planet Waves album. Most of the lyrics are either new or modified and perhaps most significantly a reference to the Joan Baez song, "Diamonds and Rust," was added. In this video Howard and I also view a short clip featuring Bob and Joan from the movie "Renaldo and Clara." In addition to adding the lyrics to the song, I also added a montage of photos of Bob and Joan from back in the day.
