These are 100 things from 1960s America we'll never see again, and life in the 1960s starts here with a jet-style car lent free to ordinary families.
Chrysler lent its Turbine Car to 203 drivers and then destroyed all but nine, while Lyndon Johnson drove guests into a lake in his Amphicar. A Kmart Blue Light Special sent shoppers running, a Picturephone call cost 16 dollars for three minutes, and Easy-Bake Ovens baked with a light bulb. You'll also see paper dresses, pay toilets, ditto sheets, Good Humor trucks and Fotomat huts, all things that no longer exist.
If you were growing up in the 60s, your whole family could walk you right to the airplane gate. Passenger screening started on January 5, 1973, and that part of life in the 1960s was over.
