“What Have We Become?”
What Have We Become? is a song of remembrance, grief, conscience, and solidarity.
It is dedicated to the July 4 Minneapolis marchers, grieving families, and everyone still carrying the weight of loss, fear, separation, or injustice.
Behind every headline is a human being.
Behind every number is a name.
Behind every name is a family, a story, a life that mattered.
This song asks a simple but difficult question:
What have we become when human dignity becomes negotiable?
It is not meant to encourage hatred toward any person, political party, nationality, occupation, or community. It is meant to remind us that government policy and political arguments ultimately affect real human beings—mothers, fathers, children, neighbors, workers, and families.
52 lives.
52 stories.
We remember.
We demand better.
Whatever our politics, we should never lose our ability to mourn together, question those in power, defend human dignity, and recognize the humanity in one another.
🕯️ Say their names. Remember their stories. Choose humanity.
