I Analyzed a $2M Beachfront Development in Nicaragua *YOU NEED TO SEE THIS*

In this video, I'm reacting to Remanso Lofts Surf & Spa, a new boutique beachfront development currently under construction at Playa Remanso, just outside San Juan del Sur. The project combines residences, surfing and wellness, with loft-style units, a pool, spa, gym and direct access to the beach. But instead of simply showing you the project, I wanted to look at it from an architect's perspective. As I react to the renders, location and architectural concept, I'll share some of the things that immediately catch my attention when looking at a project being built on Nicaragua's Pacific coast. 🌊 FIRST IMPRESSIONS The location is one of the first things that stands out. Playa Remanso has become increasingly accessible, particularly with the development of the coastal road connecting Remanso toward Tola. That accessibility can have a major impact on development along the Pacific coast. But building this close to the ocean also creates architectural challenges. Salt air, humidity, wind, intense sunlight and heavy rain all become part of the design equation. 🌴 BUILDING ON THE NICARAGUAN COAST As an architect who designs homes along Nicaragua's Pacific coast, I also look at the bigger picture. Before building in a coastal environment, you need to understand the topography, soil, water, climate and views. The architecture should respond to the land rather than fight against it. Projects like this also show how quickly areas around San Juan del Sur are evolving as infrastructure and accessibility improve. With that growth comes opportunity, but also responsibility. We can build more, but we should also build intelligently and respect the climate, landscape and character of these places.
