Boreal Birding in Winter

Birding the North Maine Woods in winter is special. Special birds of the northern forest, such as Canada jays, boreal chickadees, spruce grouse, black-backed woodpecker, and American three-toed woodpecker are findable. Tons of Canadian finches irrupt southward into Maine in the cold months. Awesome.
