75 BURG DAY 27: Maddox Fair at Chili’s

Maddox is one of those people whose music, ideas, and community all feel like they belong in the same world. We pulled up to Chili’s in Inglewood, a place tied to some of his earliest memories with his dad, and talked about everything from his next sample-heavy mixtape built around songs he loved as a kid, to what “We Belong Forever” really means to him. We also got into why he has so much respect for DJs, the importance of giving people space to move and release, and the birthday show he threw the night before that brought so many artists in our scene together. At one point Maddox said, “Last night was the most myself I’d ever felt in my life,” and I think that really sums up where he’s at right now — reconnecting with himself, making the music he actually wants to make, and bringing everybody he loves along with him. 75 Burg with Maddox Fair.
