"My future is to be either raptured or martyred." Watchman Nee said this before boarding a train back to mainland China in 1950, aware of what awaited him there.
In this recording, Dialogues on the Faith and the church in Cambridge, UK, present Dinner and Conversation: Watchman Nee, His Life, Martyrdom, and Enduring Legacy.
Dr. Paul Chang of the University of California, Riverside, opened the evening with Nee's life and conversion; he is also the author of The Spiritual Person: An Intellectual Biography of Watchman Nee (Oxford University Press, 2026). Dr. Brian Chiu followed with Nee's imprisonment and martyrdom, and Dr. Jacob Feng of Fuller Theological Seminary with his legacy worldwide. Theodore Wang closed with the story of the church in Cambridge itself, which he described as part of the legacy of Nee’s ministry.
After the four presentations, there was a time for testimony that lasted close to an hour, as believers from the UK, and the US shared about their own experience and enjoyment of this rich inheritance Watchman Nee has left to all believers through his ministry. The full evening is included here, the four presentations and the testimonies that followed.
