Dunhuang, an ancient oasis city on China’s Silk Road, comes alive after dark.
In this episode, I explore Dunhuang Night Market, a huge night market with more than 1,000 stalls and shops, packed with local food, sizzling grills, smoke, fire, and crowds.
We try some of the most interesting foods I found in Dunhuang, including fiery grilled fish, red willow lamb skewers, donkey meat with yellow noodles, desert onion beef pies, lamb buns, Hexi-style tripe, traditional sweets, and many more local dishes.
Dunhuang is famous for its deserts, ancient history, and the Silk Road — but at night, food becomes another way to discover this unique part of China.
No staged scenes, just real food, real markets, and everyday life in China.
