Salt of the Earth (1954): The Socialist Film Blacklisted In America, Full Movie

Written, directed, and produced by creatives who had been placed on the infamous Hollywood Blacklist during the Red Scare, this independently produced film depicts a mining strike and expresses socialist ideas while exploring the role of women in a revolution. Though the film itself was similarly blacklisted, in 1992 the Library of Congress inducted it into the National Film Registry. The full film is presented here.
