I had just arrived in Mumbai, I was starving, and I had absolutely no idea what to eat. So I did what I usually do when I travel—I started asking the locals. That’s when one friendly local offered to help and introduced me to some of her favourite street food spots around Mohammed Ali Road, one of Mumbai’s most famous food streets. Together we explored the bustling night market, trying incredible dishes like rich haleem, delicious meat-filled rolls, sweet local desserts, and even a few foods I’d never seen before. Along the way, I met welcoming families, curious locals, and experienced the incredible atmosphere that makes Mumbai’s street food scene so special. These are the moments I travel for.
