My first-time Supernatural reaction journey continues with Season 1, Episode 2: “Wendigo,” and apparently after emotionally destroying me in the pilot, this show decided the next logical step was to send Sam and Dean into a dark forest after something that can literally imitate human voices. Fantastic! Love that for me. 😭 In this episode, Sam and Dean follow another clue left behind by their missing father and head to Blackwater Ridge, where a group of campers has mysteriously disappeared. And what starts as a search-and-rescue mission very quickly becomes: 🌲 Creepy woods 🔦 Questionable decisions 👹 A horrifying monster 🗣️ Voices you absolutely should NOT follow 🔥 And the Winchester brothers once again demonstrating that therapy is apparently not part of the family business 😅 But underneath all the monster hunting, I really loved seeing more of the difference between Sam and Dean, especially how they each view hunting, helping people, and their search for their father. I feel like Dean is already becoming WAY more emotionally complicated than he wants anyone to believe, and I am only two episodes into this show. ⚠️ SPOILER WARNING FOR THE COMMENTS: Please keep everything spoiler-free beyond Season 1, Episode 2!
