Episode 1363 Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) asks Alf (Bryan Mosley) to convince Len (Peter Adamson) to join the next redevelopment meeting. Ken (Bill Roache) worries about how much older the twins will be since they last stayed with him. Len doubles down on his support of the redevelopment and refuses to attend any meetings. Janet receives a brochure for Lindens Boarding School from Jill Barrett (Valerie Georgeson) and starts scheming to enrol the twins there. During the meeting, Alf feels frustrated at having to defend the redevelopment plans as the residents accuse him of prioritising financial gain over the community. Alf argues that the new flats and offices represent progress but the group still oppose the scheme and resolve to march on the Town Hall. They also launch a petition demanding a vote of no confidence against Len for his inaction. Ken is shocked to find the Lindens brochure and confronts Janet, who finally admits she doesn’t want the twins staying with them because she fears being tied down by the responsibility. Ken is furious and smashes a bottle of wine over the table.
