Donington Park - Crash and Action - 750MC Weekend - October 2026

The season draws to close for the main 750MC championships, and finally I was able to get myself to the end of year Donington Park race meeting that the club seems to have every year. Annoyingly, this year 750 seemed to be representative of the number of safety cars that would feature across the two days. The grids this weekend were ginormous, with so many championships reaching around 40 cars (some of them even more), its always going to be a challenge to keep the circuit green all weekend. But despite all of these racing grace periods, the green flag track time was incredibly good. Probably one of the craziest moments from the weekend was when F1000 driver Matt Higginson tried to launch his rear left wheel to outer space. It must have been so close to leaving our atmosphere but fortunately it came back down into the gravel and no one was hurt in the freak accident that saw the wheel shear from the spokes. Unfortunately the meeting ended prematurely following a 'medical emergency' in the pit lane. I'm not aware of what the emergency may have been but I hope everyone is safe and sound. I've loved watching the 750 Motor Club this year and I'm already looking forward to next year but for now congratulations to all of the new champions!
