Class D win on senior race debut! - Highlights from live stream & commentary

Highlights of our appearances on the live stream & commentary! Held at Donington Park on the full GP layout on 17th October'26, the 750 Motor Club Roadsports championship is a 45 minute mini-endurance race with a mandatory pit stop. I was sharing the seat with my teammate ‪@JezBanks‬ in the ‪@HyperRCRMotorsport‬ Class D BMW 120i. Class D is for the cars with the lowest power to weight ratio, so we'd always be towards the back of the grid but it's your class position that matters most! It was my first senior race, my first mini-endurance race and my first race in a rear wheel drive car after stepping up from the front wheel drive Citroen Saxos of the Junior Saloon Car Championship. We had qualified P1 in class D but P41 on the road out of 47 cars that participated in the session. We started the race in P38 of 42 overall, still P1 in class D. Some of the cars that participated in quali, didn't race... probably as they were reserves. Jez started the race with the intention of pitting early in the window to allow me as much track time as possible. We also had a 15 second 'success penalty' added to our pitstop from Jez & ‪@Jimmy_Broadbent‬ race win in the previous round at Thruxton. The race was red-flagged with a couple of minutes left on the clock but we finished P1 in class D, with a 16+ second gap to P2 & P32 overall. We also secured the class fastest lap and a new class lap record (just!), thanks to the red flag. Couldn't really have gone any better.
