Dancing for Biodiversity - Danser la biodiversité

EN: Oceans, coral reefs, abysses, invasive species, desertification and restoration of natural areas: by dancing biodiversity, fourteen children of the company "Les arts en scène" of Montpellier carry a message, that of the urgency to act for the future of the planet. Their show, "Steps for a Change", created for the opening of the 7th plenary session of the IPBES (Unesco, May 2019), caused an emotional tidal wave among the 132 government delegations present. At the interface between science and art, Steps for a change was born from the meeting between Yunne Shin, marine ecologist researcher at the IRD, and Emily Lartillot, dance teacher and choreographer. This film retraces this artistic adventure and the creative process with the children. Steps for a change was produced in partnership with IPBES, IRD, UNESCO, FRB, MARBEC, University of Montpellier, CeMEB, EuroMarine and CERES. A l’interface entre science et art, Steps for a change est né de la rencontre entre Yunne Shin, écologue océanographe à l’IRD, et Emily Lartillot, professeur de danse et chorégraphe. Ce film retrace cette aventure artistique et le processus de création avec les enfants.
