Welcome to a cozy, peaceful rainy day vlog! Today, I am prepping 3 delicious, fiber-rich dishes that are wholesome : Methi Dal 🛒 Ingredients: Lentils: Toor Dal – 1/3 cup (washed) Moong Dal – 1/3 cup (washed) Masoor Dal – 1/3 cup (washed) Aromatics & Veggies: Garlic – 3 to 4 cloves, chopped Tomato – 1 medium, chopped Methi (Fenugreek) Leaves – 2 handfuls, washed Spices & Seasoning: Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp (or to taste) Jaggery – A small piece Salt – To taste Cooking Fat & Water: Oil – 1 tsp (for frying) + oil for tadka Water – 1 glass (adjust for consistency) Tadka (Tempering): Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera) – 1/2 tsp Hing (Asafoetida) – A pinch Dry Red Chilli – 1 small piece Curry Leaves – A sprig 👩‍🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions: 1. Prep the Dal: Wash the toor dal, moong dal, and masoor dal thoroughly in water. 2. Sauté: Heat 1 spoon of oil in a pressure cooker. Add the chopped garlic, tomato, and 2 handfuls of methi leaves. Fry for about 2 minutes. 3. Pressure Cook: Add the washed mixed dals, turmeric powder, and 1 glass of water. Close the cooker and cook for 3 to 4 whistles. 4. Simmer: Once the pressure releases, transfer the dal to a cooking vessel and place it back on the stove over medium heat. 5. Season: Add a little bit of jaggery, salt, and chilli powder. Let it boil well for a few minutes so all the flavors meld together. 6. Add Tadka: In a small pan, heat oil for the tempering. Crackle the mustard seeds and jeera, then add hing, a small piece of dried red chilli, and fresh curry leaves. Pour this sizzling tadka straight over the boiling dal! 7. Serve: Mix well and enjoy hot with rice or rotis. If you enjoyed this quick recipe, don't forget to Like, Share, and Subscribe for more easy cooking ideas! Let the mustard seeds pop. 3. Sauté Onions: Add the chopped onions and fry them until the raw smell goes away. 4. Add Tomatoes: Toss in the chopped tomatoes and fry well until soft. 5.
