Rushing Back After the Exam! I’m Worried as Our Boat Faces Powerful Currents at the Sluice Gate

Today, my husband takes his boat captain exam before we begin our journey back home to Ben Tre, Vietnam. Along the way, we explore local fruit markets, visit a coconut processing workshop, and discover the hardworking people who make a living in the Mekong Delta. But when we finally return to our boat, I feel worried. Our boat has been left unattended for four days, and the water rushing powerfully through the sluice gate is much stronger than I expected. I keep thinking about the mooring ropes and whether our boat will remain safe. The waterways inside the sluice system stretch about 30 kilometers upstream before reaching freshwater areas. With so much water flowing through the gate, I cannot help feeling anxious about our boat.
