What Survival Mode Stole From Me

Survival mode taught me how to endure life—but it didn’t teach me how to enjoy it. For years, I struggled to rest without guilt, enjoy the present without expecting something bad to happen, and freely be the soft, funny, creative version of myself. Survival may have buried those parts of me beneath fear, disappointment, responsibility, and pain—but it did not destroy them. In this video, we’re talking about what survival mode steals from us: our peace, joy, dreams, creativity, softness, laughter, and ability to trust God. But Jesus didn’t come so we could merely survive. He came so we could experience abundant life. You don’t have to return to the woman you were at 20 or 30. He loves you now. Jesus gave His life for your sins and rose again so you could be forgiven, made new, and brought into a relationship with God. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” —Romans 10:9 NIV You can pray: Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. Please forgive me and make me new. I give You my life and receive You as my Lord and Savior. Teach me how to know You, trust You, and walk with You. Help me experience the peace, joy, and abundant life You have for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
