FOLLOW ME: The Cost, Calling, and Commitment of Discipleship | Living The Verse Episode 56

What does it really mean to follow Jesus? Jesus didn't simply invite us to believe in Him—He called us to follow Him. In Living The Verse Episode 56, we explore The Call to Discipleship through three powerful passages: 📖 Matthew 4:19 — “Follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people.” 📖 Matthew 16:24 — “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” 📖 Luke 9:62 — Jesus challenges us not to put our hand to the plow and keep looking back. Following Christ is more than a one-time decision. It is a daily choice to surrender our will, trust His direction, leave behind what holds us back, and take the next step wherever He leads. This episode also features the original Living The Verse song “Follow,” a powerful early-2000s alternative rock-inspired Christian song built around a simple declaration: “It’s true, I want to follow You.” As you listen, ask yourself: ➡️ Am I truly following Jesus—or simply believing in Him from a distance? ➡️ What is God asking me to surrender so I can follow Him more completely? ➡️ Am I looking forward toward where Christ is leading, or am I still looking back at where I've been? THIS WEEK'S LIVING THE VERSE CHALLENGE For the next seven days, begin each morning with this simple prayer: “Jesus, I want to follow You today. Show me where You're leading, and give me the courage to take the next step.” Then look for one opportunity each day to put that prayer into action—through serving, forgiving, encouraging, giving, sharing your faith, choosing integrity, or simply obeying God in something you've been putting off. You don't have to see the whole road. Just take the next step. Jesus said, “Follow me.” The question is: Will we? ________________________________________ 🎵 Featured Song: “Follow” A Living The Verse Original Produced by Don Millman © 2026 Living The Verse.
