While some pandals celebrated Shashthi yesterday, others are performing the Shashthi Puja today. According to the almanac, Dussehra for Durga Puja pandals worshipping clay idols will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 20. However, the special Dussehra rituals at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will take place on October 21. As per the Shree Jagannath Temple’s traditions, Saptami is observed today, Ashtami tomorrow and Navami on October 19. The temple will observe its Vishrama ritual on October 20, followed by Dussehra on October 21. On Dussehra, the Chaturdha Murti will be adorned in the special Suna Besha, along with the performance of Ayudha Puja. The differing dates have left devotees wondering when to observe Vijayadashami.
