Hiking Flatiron & Peak 5024 | Superstition Mountains

We headed back to the Superstition Mountains for one of Arizona's classic hikes—Flatiron. Even though we were there in February, the weather was hot and we nearly ran out of water. After reaching Flatiron, we continued on to Peak 5024 to enjoy even more incredible views of the Superstitions. Along the way we crossed paths with a few familiar faces from the trail: Flatiron Jay (my Uncle), Slow Joe (who isn't slow), and Claudio the Italian. It made for a fun day with great company. This hike was also special because our friend Dipika joined us for her very first trip to Flatiron. It's a challenging hike, but she handled it like a pro and did an amazing job making it to the top.
