The Song opens with Thirumanthiram Verse 2275, then moves on into 4 stations
On the Four Stations
Station 1 takes the அல்லமை song's Nataraja and deepens him. நில்லாதில்லைப் பொன்வேந்தன் அல்லன் அவனில்லா உள்ளமையும் இல்லமையும் இல் — without the golden sovereign of Tillai's unending motion, neither being nor absence has ground. The previous song showed that is-not-ness is the ground of is-ness. This station shows that Nataraja is prior to both — the ground even of அல்லமை. And the echo adds: ஆயவையும் இல் — even the examining mind, even the philosophical investigation itself, has no ground without him. மாயையும் இல் — even māyā is not. The ஆயும்பொய்மாயை of the Thirumandiram's first word dissolves in Nataraja's prior ground before the song has properly begun.
Station 2 gives Irai its verbal body. உருவன பெருவன மருவன ஓயா தருவன — forming, expanding, pervading, ceaselessly pouring forth — four present participles cascading without pause, Irai as continuous action rather than static entity. The echo's உறையூக்கம் — the dwelling-impulse — arrives from the phonological collision of முறை (order) and இறை (divine): the divine order IS the impulse of dwelling. The pulse of order and the abiding of the divine are the same motion.
Station 3 makes the song's most socially relevant philosophical distinction. முறையூக்கம் புரிதலே இறையறிவு அன்றி இறையிவனென பறைசாற்றல் அன்று — divine knowing is lived participation in the pulse of order, not the loud proclamation this one is God. The distinction is between புரிதல் (understanding, inhabiting, living from within) and பறைசாற்றல் (announcing, proclaiming, declaring from outside). This is the ஒன்றே குலம் song's recognition stated in a different register: you cannot claim the divine through theological assertion. You can only know it through participation.
Station 4 bridges the four stations back to the Thirumandiram. அருஇறை யாலான முறை வருவ வருவதாலான முறை உருவபோல் — from the formless divine flows primal order, and from what arises another order, shimmering as if form. The echo then allows the Thirumandiram's own language to surface before the return: ஆயும்பொய்ம் மாயை... வேயும் பொருளாய் உருவபோல் — the examining māyā appearing alongside the things woven into form. The formless having flowed as form, the seven seconds of silence arrives — the longest silence in the song — before the Thirumandiram is heard again.
The closing word of the Thirumandiram verse — தானே — carries everything. Of itself. Spontaneously. By its own nature. Śivānanda did not weave things into existence through effort or intention. It germinated them — விளைந்தது — the way a seed germinates: not by deciding to, not by being told to, but because germination is its nature when the conditions are present.
