In this message from Matthew 25:14-30, Pastor Chris Meads explores Jesus' Parable of the Talents and reminds us that every believer has been entrusted with something far more valuable than wealth. We've been entrusted with the Christian life itself. Beginning with the story of Bernie Madoff, Pastor Chris contrasts a counterfeit life with authentic faith, showing how our actions ultimately reveal who we truly are. Jesus teaches that one day every person will stand before Him, not to prove they were "good enough," but to reveal whether they genuinely belonged to Him. The faithful servants understood that what they had received belonged to their master. They immediately went to work, stewarding what had been entrusted to them, and were welcomed with the incredible words, "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter the joy of your master." The unfaithful servant, however, buried what had been given to him, offering excuses instead of obedience. His works exposed that he never truly loved or served the master. This parable is not teaching salvation by works. Rather, it reveals that genuine faith naturally produces a life that seeks to honor Christ. Our works do not earn God's approval. They demonstrate the reality of a heart that has already been transformed by His grace. For believers, this message is an invitation to joyfully steward every gift, opportunity, resource, and season of life for the glory of God. For those who may simply appear religious on the outside, it is a loving warning to examine whether they truly know Christ. Because when Jesus returns, He will perfectly reveal who belongs to Him. May we long to hear the words every follower of Jesus desires: "Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter the joy of your master."
