The Marriage Advice We All Need to Hear | Genesis 2:24

What does it really mean when the Bible says a husband and wife become “one flesh”? After attending a family wedding this weekend, Cody was reminded of Genesis 2:24 and what that verse means for marriage. When you get married, it’s no longer your family versus their family, your problems versus their problems, or each of you living separate lives under the same roof. God designed marriage for a husband and wife to become one. That means protecting one another, being there for one another, working through the hard things together, and remembering that your spouse isn’t the enemy. And when marriage gets hard, the answer isn’t to pull farther apart. Put God at the center. The closer you both draw to Him, the closer you draw to each other. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 NKJV If your marriage has been going through a hard season, we hope this encourages you today.
