Drugs and Health: What Every Young Person Should Know | Daijiworld What should every young person know about drugs, their effects on health, and the importance of making informed choices? In this awareness talk, delivered on 2nd October at Daijiworld, I discuss the impact of drugs on physical health, mental well-being, and the lives of young people. The session highlights the importance of understanding the risks associated with substance use, recognising the warning signs of substance-related problems, and making healthy, informed decisions. Through awareness and education, we can empower young people to protect their health, build resilience, and make choices that support their future. In this talk, we explore: • Understanding drugs and their effects on the brain and body • The impact of substance use on mental health and emotional well-being • Why young people may be vulnerable to substance use • The importance of peer influence, responsible decision-making, and healthy coping strategies • Recognising when someone may need help • The role of families, schools, healthcare professionals, and society in preventing substance-related harm • The importance of seeking professional help without fear or stigma A message to young people: Knowledge is power. Being informed, asking questions, and seeking help when needed are important steps towards a healthier future. Let us work together to build a society where young people have the knowledge, confidence, and support to make healthy choices. If you find this talk useful, please LIKE, SHARE, and SUBSCRIBE to help spread awareness about youth health and substance-use prevention. Share your thoughts or questions in the comments.
