SAHAYAK: Wearable AI for Early Osteoarthritis Screening | SIH 2026 | Hindi

SAHAYAK is a wearable, multimodal AI system that screens for osteoarthritis (OA) risk at the patient's doorstep, even where orthopaedic specialists and internet access are hard to find. This video follows one patient through the full hardware-to-software flow of our prototype. 🔹 How it works 1. The patient wears three sensor belts: a knee belt (2 MPU6050 motion sensors + skin temperature sensor), a waist belt (2 MPU6050 sensors for back movement) and a foot-sole belt (4 FSR pressure sensors under the heel and toe). 2. An ESP32 controller, powered by a rechargeable Li-Po battery, collects the sensor data and sends it over Bluetooth to the SAHAYAK app. 3. The health worker enters the patient's details (name, age, gender, height, weight, symptoms, family history, previous OA tests) in English, Hindi or a local language. 4. A trained clinician performs a synovial fluid gross test (colour, clarity, viscosity), and the observations are entered in the app. 5. Multimodal fusion combines the sensor data, patient details and fluid results. The AI model runs online when internet is available and on the tablet when offline. 6. The app gives a risk score: Low, Moderate or High, shown on a multilingual dashboard with visual reports. 7. Low/Moderate risk: appropriate treatment, confirmed by a doctor. High risk: imaging (X-ray/MRI) and laboratory tests are recommended. 8.
